What is a Counterpoise?
A counterpoise is an element of a radio antenna that reflects the signal into the antenna. That’s what we do: we analyze the markets and pull the signal from the noise and reflect it back to our clients. Will is an avid ham radio enthusiast and has received the DX Century Club Award for contacting over a hundred countries by radio; if you happen to be a ham too, let him know and he’ll talk your ear off.

Our Logo
Our logo is based on the output from an antenna analyzer — called a “Smith Chart.” This chart, invented by Phillip Smith at Bell Labs in 1939, plots the impedance and reactance of the antenna using a Möbius Transformation, giving a measure of its expected performance.
Website Design
The website design is based on the brutalist architecture style that is prevalent throughout Washington DC, as explored in Angela Person and Ty Cole’s book Capital Brutalism. Will chose this design as an homage to the many government workers, sitting in brutalist buildings like the US Department of Energy’s Forrestal Building, who produce much of the data upon which this site depends. Thank you for all you do!
